ELMA-Tech with a pleasing 2017 annual balance
Morsbach, January 2018. The manufacturer of welding and coating technology in Morsbach can look back with satisfaction on the past year 2017. In addition to a successful trade fair presentation at the "Welding & Cutting 2017", ELMA-Tech also started the announced renewal of its complete arc program in the second half of the year with the realignment of all product lines and the ongoing development of a worldwide dealer network.
Customer support could be placed on a broader basis also for the Chinese market. The Elmatech Technology (Tianjin) Co. Ltd, headed by Mr. Shusheng Xue, is not only responsible for the nationwide distribution of the ELMA-Tech equipment in China, but is now also the competent service partner for the maintenance of all ELMA-Tech machines in the VW production in Nanjing and throughout China.
Sales of high-performance power sources for use in a wide variety of coating technology projects were also significantly increased. Once again, ELMA-Tech's leading control technology proved to be a convincing factor on the customer side in addition to the robust plant engineering.
Incidentally, regarding the control technology Virtual Machine, there was also a generation change from the 2nd generation of the controller to the 3rd generation (VM3). With regard to the industrial process quality, the quality of the welding results or the results in the thermal spraying as a whole, the VM3 raises the bar once more upwards.
Automotive sector remains in focus
The worldwide automotive sector remained a reliable sales market for the innovative welding technologies of ELMA-Tech. In addition to stable sales with long lasting regular customers for many years in the automotive plants themselves, ELMA-Tech succeeded in attracting new automotive suppliers as well as automotive manufacturers in 2017 - including Toyota China and SCANIA Brazil.
In Germany, a supplier of the company Streetscooter was acquired as a new customer and equipped to a greater extent with welding equipment. This commitment will continue in 2018 with the supply of robot welding guns and associated welding power sources.
The Czech automotive supplier HAUK s.r.o. is currently further automating its production for Skoda with ELMA-Tech robotic welding guns and associated VMC Rob control cabinets. Also in the Czech Republic, the truck manufacturer IVECO uses ELMA-Tech equipment for a short time: Industrial manual welding guns VM and other specific C guns are applied here, which are used on VMC welding power sources resp. control cabinets.
Against this background, ELMA-Tech will also be expanding the support of customers in the Czech Republic in the future. These will be serviced directly by additional ELMA-Tech employees (besides Jan Vobora) starting in February 2018. Supported by Petra Cechová, Josef Braun takes on sales responsibilities and Petr Kracík is available as a service technician for maintenance work.
